Getting Started with Brightspace for Remote Instruction

Whether you are new to Brightspace or just need a refresher? The Getting Started session is designed to walk you through the basics for preparing your course site for the start of term. An opportunity will be provided to respond to specific questions about remote instruction in Brightspace.

Topics include:

  • Overview of CITL’s Support team
  • Logging into Brightspace and accessing your course site
  • Adding content to a site, including the Course Set-up Kit for Remote Instruction
  • Using course mail and announcement to contact your students
  • Setting up a discussion forum
  • Creating an assignment folder for submissions
  • Setting up the Gradebook to track and return grades to students
  • Activating your site
  • Introducing online rooms

The session will run for about an hour – with time for Q/A afterwards.

NOTE:  We prefer you register for the session so we know how many people are attending; however, you can automatically join the session by clicking the link below.  The room will open 15 minutes before the start time.
