Allowing space for creativity in the classroom (CITL Instructor Series)
February 18, 2025 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
The presenter for this session is Dr. Kevin Power, Associate Dean Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Human Kinetics and Recreation.
Allowing students to demonstrate their understanding of course content in a manner that is relevant to them not only aides in the retention of knowledge, but increases student engagement.
In this session Dr. Kevin Power will share his thoughts and experiences on allowing students to use their creativity to demonstrate learning, and how it can be more effective than other traditional approaches. There will be an opportunity to learn about specific activities and assessments used, including the critical considerations to ensure successful implementation. In this collaborative session, participants are invited to share their comparable experiences as well.
This is a hybrid session (offered online and in-person) and it will be recorded.
If attending online, it is recommended that you attend this session using one of the following internet browsers: Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium) or Firefox. You can join the session 10 minutes before the start time.
