Online Exam Supervision with ProctorU
ProctorU is Memorial University’s approved online proctoring service that is used to supervise online term and final exams in some online courses within Brightspace. The Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is responsible for the administration of online proctoring using ProctorU.
Similar to exams that are supervised by an instructor or other invigilator in a classroom, online proctoring with ProctorU, allows the supervisor to view the student, verify identity, and monitor student surroundings. This helps to ensure the academic integrity for exams that are delivered online.
For the Spring 2021 semester, the ProctorU service will only be available to students in specific, approved online courses. If ProctorU is not an option for you, please contact your instructor to discuss another alternative.
To determine if your mid-term or final exam will be supervised using ProctorU, please check your course syllabus or contact your instructor.
