remotely and asynchronously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many great resources online to help you create these experiences.  Here&#8217;s a couple to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener lightbox-video-0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y5dgwwa5XRA\" target=\"_blank\">You Can Make A Narrated PowerPoint Video!<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/record-a-slide-show-with-narration-and-slide-timings-0b9502c6-5f6c-40ae-b1e7-e47d8741161c\" target=\"_blank\">Record a slide show with narration and slide timings<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Export Presentation as a video<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to share your recording with your students (especially if you have video incorporated) you need to <strong>save this as a video file<\/strong> and not share it as a PowerPoint Show file.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is recommended that you use <a href=\"https:\/\/citl.mun.ca\/TeachingSupport\/instructionalcontinuity\/services.php#selfrecording\">CITL&#8217;s streaming service for remote instruction<\/a>, instead of uploading the file directly to your site, as it will allow the students to stream the video, instead of downloading it to view.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To submit your recording to CITL&#8217;s streaming service for remote instruction, <\/strong>you must save the the presentation as a video file (i.e MPEG4-Video).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow these steps to save and export the file as a video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Open your presentation and click <strong>File<\/strong> in the upper left corner of the window.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"555\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1-1024x555.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9059\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1-1024x555.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1-768x416.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1-1536x833.png 1536w, https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/files\/2020\/03\/1.png 1918w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Use the option <strong>Create a Video<\/strong> and leave the default settings. A <strong>Save As<\/strong> dialog box will open.  Here you will choose where you want to save your file and the name you want to use.  We would suggesting including your name or initials, the course name, and perhaps the lecture number of topic of the presentation (ex. CITL_ABC100_Lec1.mp4). After clicking <strong>Save<\/strong>, it will return you to the main presentation. Once you have a completed the creation of the video file, you can share it with your students using a variety of means; however CITL&#8217;s streaming service for remote instruction is recommended.
