The classlist is linked directly to Banner, Memorial University\u2019s registration system. All students who register for a course are automatically added to the Classlist for the course. Brightspace synchronizes with Banner several times a day to ensure that your Classlist is always up to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can use the Classlist to identify classmates and reach out to their instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Classlist for a course can be accessed by going to Communication in the course navbar and selecting Classlist from the dropdown menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of Using Classlist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keep Track of Enrollments and Withdrawals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can view a summary of course enrollments and withdrawals by clicking the <strong>Enrollment Statistics<\/strong> button on the Classlist page. You can see how many students are enrolled in your course and how many have withdrawn from the course, along with the enrollment and withdrawal dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>View Group Enrollment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are using groups in your course, you can view your group enrollment from the Classlist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email Students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instructors can email the entire class, groups, individuals, teaching assistants and co-instructors directly from the Classlist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To email everyone in the course, click the <strong>Mail Classlist<\/strong> button on the Classlist page. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To email only select students, select their names from the Classlist and click <strong>Mail<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monitor Student Progress<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check student progress by clicking on downward-pointing arrow next to a student\u2019s name. <strong>View Progress<\/strong> is a feature that gives you a quick overview of a student\u2019s progress on assignments, quizzes and content. You can see when a student is logged in to Brightspace as a green dot appears next to their name when they are logged in.
