Instructors can use Online Rooms to do one or both of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Record live lectures during scheduled class time, with students present in the Online Rooms session. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Record lectures outside the scheduled class time, with no students present in the session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-style-default border is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Pros:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Videos created and shared in Brightspace &#8211; no need for external tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Screen, audio, and webcam can be shared easily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generates a URL link for easy sharing <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-style-default border is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Cons:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cannot automatically generate closed captioning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cannot easily edit the resulting video<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The instructions below explain how you can set up recording sessions in Online Rooms without inviting the students and how to share the resulting recordings in your Brightspace courses. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle wp-block-ub-content-toggle-block\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-block-937df458-58b3-44d8-b9f2-bb58e4265744\" data-mobilecollapse=\"false\" data-desktopcollapse=\"true\" data-preventcollapse=\"false\" data-showonlyone=\"false\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion\" style=\"border-color: #f1f1f1; border-top-left-radius: 8px; border-top-right-radius: 8px; border-bottom-left-radius: 8px; border-bottom-right-radius: 8px; \" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-block-\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title-wrap\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f1;\" aria-controls=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-0-937df458-58b3-44d8-b9f2-bb58e4265744\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title ub-content-toggle-title-937df458-58b3-44d8-b9f2-bb58e4265744\" style=\"color: #000000; \">1. You will be able to use the <strong>Record <\/strong>button inside the Online Rooms. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave <strong>Publish recorded meeting<\/strong> selected &#8211; this ensures that the recording you generate is shareable. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unselect <strong>Invite entire class<\/strong> &#8211; this ensures that students do not receive a notification to join the session you are scheduling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.
