CITL also supports instructors who prefer to record lectures on their own devices.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On-Campus Recording<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to record your on-campus classes or events and later share the recordings with students, you can avail of one of the two options below (click the menu items to view details). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h4 id=\"at-335010\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>1. Classroom Studio<\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"ac-335010\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>If you are looking for a highly supported approach, CITL&#8217;s specialized Classroom Studio&nbsp;may be your best option. Using familiar classroom technology, a CITL video production expert will record your lectures and upload them to <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/other-edtech\/self-service-video-uploader\/\">CITL&#8217;s Video Uploading and Hosting server<\/a>. Lecture Capture records a small video image of the instructor, the instructor\u2019s voice, and all information projected through the data projector. Once you generate video files on your own computer, you should upload them through the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.citl.mun.ca\/technologyresources\/other-edtech\/self-service-video-uploader\/\">CITL Video Uploader tool<\/a> in Brightspace. You can then embed the videos into any of your Brightspace course sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list below highlights some of the software and services you can use to record your own lectures. <strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Some of the options below do not require managing video files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h4 id=\"at-335012\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>1. Online Rooms in Brightspace<\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"ac-335012\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>Online Rooms is an easy tool for recording lectures and sharing them with students &#8211; all within Brightspace. Because Online Rooms is fully integrated with Brightspace, there is no need for external tools or software to make your recordings, and there are no video files to manage. Webex<\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"ac-335013\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>Memorial University has acquired an enterprise Webex license that is available to all instructors and staff at Memorial. While Webex is traditionally viewed as a synchronous meeting or teaching platform, it can also be used for lecture recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using your Personal Room, you can launch a Webex session, configure your environment, and record your session using the built-in tools within Webex (audio, webcam, screen sharing). A transcript can be automatically generated for your file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resulting video file can be saved to the Webex cloud, and A URL link along with a password will be generated for your recording. You can then share the link and password with students in your Brightspace course. ScreenPal<\/strong> <\/h4><div id=\"ac-335014\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>ScreenPal is a screen recording software that allows instructors to easily record content from their computer as well as their audio, and optionally video. Memorial has procured a limited amount of ScreenPal licenses that can be used by instructors for creating content for their courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ScreenPal includes annotation tools, a video editor, and special effects that can be used to make your videos more dynamic. ScreenPal can also generate transcripts of your video using Google&#8217;s speech-to-text engine, and you have the ability to edit the transcripts for accuracy.
