style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating Quizzes<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Using Quizzes in Brightspace allows instructors to ask learners a variety of questions to help evaluate learning outcomes and users&#8217; learning progress. You can configure each quiz based on your needs, and you can facilitate the grading process by using features such as auto-grading and automatic transfer of grades to the Brightspace grade book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 11 question types available in Brightspace quizzes (see chart below). Some questions are close-ended and others open-ended; there are also questions that use formulas and significant figures. The purpose of this quiz is to make sure that students can access and submit a quiz successfully PRIOR to doing an actual assessment in the Quizzes tool. To download the quiz, follow the steps below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Right click this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/online.mun.ca\/shared\/packages\/SampleQuiz.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download the CITL Sample Quiz<\/a> and select &#8220;save link as&#8221;. The .zip quiz package will be downloaded to your computer (mark the location).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to your course in Brightspace and select <strong>Course Admin<\/strong> on the navigation bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, choose <strong>Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Import Components<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the \u201cSample Quiz.zip\u201d file that you downloaded previously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose <strong>Upload<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose <strong>Import All Components<\/strong> and wait until it is imported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the package has been successfully imported, go to the <strong>Assessments<\/strong> tab in the course navigation bar and choose <strong>Quizzes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your &#8220;Sample Quiz&#8221; is ready.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If students have difficulty using the quiz tool, they should be directed to contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/citl.mun.ca\/support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CITL Support Centre<\/a> so any issues can be resolved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating a Quiz in Brightspace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Quizzes can be created in two places in Brightspace:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Directly in a quiz (see below)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the &#8216;Question Library&#8217; for your course. These dates only control the time interval in which students can <em><strong>begin <\/strong><\/em>the quiz. If a student starts the quiz one minute before the <strong>End Date<\/strong>\/<strong>Time<\/strong>, they will still have the entire time allotted for the quiz in the <strong>Timing &amp; Display<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group tip-container has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f4efd2\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Consider <strong><em>Due Date<\/em><\/strong>, <em><strong>Start <\/strong>and <\/em><strong><em>End<\/em> <em>Dates<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Timing <\/em><\/strong>carefully.
