Otherwise, you will need to return to this option and select it at a later time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h4 id=\"at-269191\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>2. The options are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>One-time run<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Hourly<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Daily<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Weekly<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Monthly<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Annually<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the&nbsp;frequency you select, additional options will appear underneath. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#d9f0fe\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>If you choose to run the agent automatically, make sure that the <strong>Start Date <\/strong>and <strong>End Date<\/strong> under &#8216;Schedule Dates&#8217; match the duration of the semester. Criteria<\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"ac-269192\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>The <strong>Criteria<\/strong> section contains two main settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A. Role in Classlist <\/strong>\u2013 Decide who will be monitored by the agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select &#8216;<strong>All users visible in the Classlist<\/strong>&#8216; if you want the agent to monitor everyone on the classlist, i.e. students, instructors, TAs, student auditors etc. <strong>NOTE<\/strong>: This also includes you &#8211; the instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(<em>Recommended<\/em>)<strong> <\/strong>Select &#8216;<strong>Users with specific roles<\/strong>&#8216; if you want the agent to monitor only a specific group, e.g. students. Take Action on Activity<\/strong> &#8211; Specify the activity the agent should monitor. There are 3 options available here: <em>Login Activity, Course Access<\/em>, and <em>Release Conditions<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Login Activity <\/strong>\u2013 This option relates to students (not) logging in to the Brightspace system in general, not specifically to your course. Actions<\/strong><\/h4><div id=\"ac-269193\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>The last step in creating an Intelligent Agent is setting the action(s) the agent should take after identifying students who have met the agent\u2019s criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A. Repetition &#8211; <\/strong>This option allows you to determine how many emails the agent should send to students who meet the criteria you had set. The options are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Take action only the first time the agent\u2019s criteria are satisfied for a user<\/strong><\/em>.<br>With this setting, a student who has been identified as having met the agent\u2019s criteria will only receive one email, regardless of how many times the agent will run. Sample use: a missing grade on a course assessment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Take action every time the agent is evaluated, and the agent\u2019s criteria are satisfied for a user<\/strong><\/em>.<br>With this setting, a student who has been identified as having met the agent\u2019s criteria will receive an email each time the agent runs. Send an email<\/strong> &#8211; Select this option if you want the agent to send emails to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>students identified by the agent, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>yourself &#8211; if you want the agent to send you updates about student activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once this setting is selected, additional options will appear underneath. Enter following recipient information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the <strong>To <\/strong>field (and <strong>CC <\/strong>and <strong>Bcc<\/strong>, if applicable), enter: <strong>{InitiatingUser}<\/strong>. This is a special code called a &#8216;replace string&#8217;, which will prompt the Brightspace system to autofill the email address of the student receiving an email from the agent.
