SUMMARY:Neurodiversity in the Classroom: From Accommodation to Collaboration (CITL Instructor Series)
DESCRIPTION:The presenter for this session is Dr. Andreae Callanan\, Per Course Instructor\, Department of English\, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Framework Coordinator\, Office of Public Engagement \nNeurodivergence\, neurodiversity\, neurotypicality\, neurospiciness: what do all these words mean\, and what do they look like in the university classroom space?\nIn this session\, Dr. Callanan will draw on her expertise in neurodiversity and creativity and her experience as a classroom instructor (and neurodivergent learner) to unpack some of the language around neurodiversity\, and to offer suggestions on how instructors can work with neurodivergent learners to create neurodiversity-friendly assignments\, evaluations\, and learning environments.\n\nThis is a hybrid session (offered online and in-person) and it will be recorded. \nIf attending online\, it is recommended that you attend this session using one of the following internet browsers:  Chrome\, Microsoft Edge (Chromium) or Firefox. You can join the session 10 minutes before the start time. \nIf attending in-person\, the session will be held in the TLX (ED 1001). \nRegistration is required for this event. *CLICK HERE TO REGISTER*
