SUMMARY:Using the literature circle model for student assessment (CITL Instructor Series)
DESCRIPTION:The presenters for this session are Dr. Connie Morrison\, Associate Professor\, Faculty of Education and Dr. Lauren Dwyer Assistant Professor\, School of Communication Studies\, Mount Royal University \nOriginally Literature Circles were designed to help young readers improve their literacy skills and engagement with fiction; however\, Dr. Morrison & Dr. Dwyer modified the typical approach and redesigned literature circles for undergraduate students to share interpretations and perspectives on assigned content. \nThis assessment tool creates a universal design learning model\, elements of ungrading and Indigenizing curricula. In this session both professors will share the considerations and experiences they have when literature circles as part of their instruction. \nThis is a hybrid session (offered online and in-person) and it will be recorded. \nIf attending online\, it is recommended that you attend this session using one of the following internet browsers:  Chrome\, Microsoft Edge (Chromium) or Firefox. You can join the session 10 minutes before the start time. \nIf attending in-person\, the session will be held in the TLX (ED 1001). \nRegistration is required for this event. *CLICK HERE TO REGISTER*
