DESCRIPTION:The presenter for this session is Dr. Tiffany Lee\, Assistant Professor\, School of Pharmacy \nUsing case studies as a part of your instructional approach creates opportunities for student to use and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This authentic applied learning approach asks students to put into action what they are learning in the course to real-world scenarios. \nIn this session\, Dr. Tiffany Lee will describe how she developed a scaffold assessment approach in her Pharmacy course that had students reflecting on their personal experiences and content knowledge to develop case studies that would be reviewed and actioned by their peers. Through each stage of the assessment\, Dr. Lee guided students through a framework that developed a culture of collegiately where appropriate and constructive feedback enhanced the overall learning experience. A first-hand account of the student experience with this approach will be shared\, coupled with a conversation around important considerations and lessons learned when using student constructed cases. \nThis is an online session and it will be recorded.
