SUMMARY:Document Review Support: Accessibility
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered if your course material (handouts\, charts\, and other documents) are accessible to all students?  Have you thought about how the visual presentation of these documents may present barriers to student learning? \nIn honour of Global Accessibility Awareness Day and in collaboration with Accessibility Services (Blundon Centre)\, CITL’s Learning Technology Coaches would like to invite Memorial’s instructional staff to participate in an accessibility document review process. \nUsing best practices as outlined by WebAIM\, coaches will use accessibility checklists for Word\, PowerPoint and PDF documents to review documents and highlight items that can be adjusted to make it more accessible.  These checklists focus on the accessible use of headings\, appropriate inclusion of tables\, images and other formatting features. \nIf you would like to have any of your learning material reviewed against these checklists\, you are invited to drop by the Teaching and Learning Exchange (ED 1001) between 10am and 4pm  OR you can send your document(s) to ltc_citl@mun.ca and we will conduct the review and return a findings report along with recommendations on how to improve the document.

SUMMARY:Maintaining Test Integrity with Advanced Quiz Settings
DESCRIPTION:Presenting each student in your course with a slightly different version of the same quiz increases the integrity of the assessment\, as students are less likely to turn to academic dishonesty. \nThe Brightspace Quizzes tool allows instructors to configure quizzes in a such a way that each student will get a different version of the same quiz. In this session\, various methods of randomizing a Brightspace quiz will be illustrated such as shuffling questions and answer choices; creating a question pool and populating a quiz (or a section within it) with a random selection of questions from the pool; and more. The role of the ‘Question Library’ will also be discussed. \nThis session will be hosted in Webex. You can join the session 10 minutes before the start time. It is recommended that you attend this session using one of the following internet browsers: Chrome\, Microsoft Edge or Firefox. \nRegistration is required for this event. *CLICK HERE TO REGISTER* \n
