Call for Proposals: Faculty Chairs in Teaching and Learning

by: MUN

This fall, Memorial University created a Chairs in Teaching and Learning program to enhance the student learning experience by promoting the development of innovative pedagogical approaches, teaching capacity and competence across the university, within academic and support units, and at the level of individual faculty members. Under the provisions of the strategic plan for the Teaching and Learning Framework, each faculty and school is able to appoint a Chair in Teaching and Learning (CTL).

The deadline to submit proposals is February 15, 2015. Proposals should be submitted to the deans’ offices in each faculty and school.

See below for further information on the CTL program.

To support faculty members who would like to submit proposals, DELTS will hold three information sessions in early 2015. The first session will be a presentation with a question and answer period which will provide information about the Teaching and Learning Framework, the Teaching and Learning Strategic Plan (2014 to 2017), the selection process for CTLs, potential roles and responsibilities of the CTL, and support that DELTS can provide to the CTL. The two remaining sessions will be workshops where faculty members can receive help with their proposal from DELTS teaching support staff.
