Dr. John Hawboldt
Chair in Teaching and Learning, School of Pharmacy
As the Chair in Teaching and Learning in the School of Pharmacy, Dr. John Hawboldt is leading initiatives to build a teaching and learning community from the ground up, with a focus on student and educator engagement to create a community of excellence. In his role, Dr. Hawboldt is working to create learning opportunities and seminars for faculty and develop classroom based projects that initiate teaching strategies to improve critical thinking, incorporate the formative assessment process to improve student understanding, and teach students how to communicate most effectively with patients and other health care professionals.
Dr. Hawboldt believes in the importance of direct involvement with students during the teaching process to learn how they think they learn best and to incorporate their perspectives on learning into instruction.
